Home, sweet home

We arrived back in Hamburg, two days, ago. It still seems like a strange movie, but we are really back. The year that lies behind us, now only is a memory. But it is imprinted in our minds and souls and the journey goes on. Thanks to everyone who has been following our blog! I am surprised, again and again, who has actually been reading it, since this page doesn't give me a record. Sometimes I wondered if anybody even bothered to look at our pictures, but I guess it were more people than I thought.
We don't really know where life will take us from here, but I'm sure it has great things for us in storage!

Soon...

Unbelievable, but true.... Our journey is coming to an end, or better, will be continued in Germany 8 days from now... We are so much looking forward to see friends and family, again! Even though we will also miss a lot about being on the road!

Take care, everyone and hopefully see you, soon!

It's been raining...

... the past 3 days. Actually it was more of a downpoor! Floodings along all of the east coast of Australia. So we've been stuck in a nice backpacker, camping in the car park with our van. We are in Nelson Bay and will probably go north tomorrow, if the weather allows it. There's more rain to come... ;-(. And the mossies are getting more and more. They attacked Marlon's face last night, so he looks a bit sick, now. He is well off, though, but we will start putting insect repellent on him. Poor thing! A good thing is, that we have internet here, eventhough the connection is quite slow and it takes forever to upload pictures. Here are some of our 13 hour sailing trip...

Australia...

Saying farewell in New Zealand wasn't easy, since we left dear friends behind and so much loved Raglan. But the journey goes on and we've been in Australia for over a week now, already. But time always flies, espescially if you have to get organized in a new place. We were warmly welcomed, though, by a friend, whom I had met in Australia 6 years, ago. Inspired by my talks about traveling he had quit his job a week after meeting me and had gone traveling Europe for about 3 years, including a one week stop in Hamburg at my place. Now he lives here in Manly, Sydney and owns a backpacker, and we are visiting him. We've had some good times together so far, eating, drinking, sailing and so on. Two days ago, we went to Gosford (about 90 min. drive up north) and sailed back to Manly with his yacht. It was great! Marlon's first time on a sailing boat. It took a few hours, since there wasn't much wind. We sailed into the dark and saw Sydney's skyline glowing in the distance. It was a beautiful day. Tomorrow we want to sail in the big Sydney Harbour and then back to Gosford, if the weather allows it. The forecast actually isn't too good, so we'll see.

We will be here until next Wednesday, then we'll work our way up north with our Camper, which is a little bit bigger this time... ;-))).............
